On D-day, the Allies attacked the Axis Forces in France. The commander for the Axis Forces was Commander Rommel. D-day is known as a naval attack, but the first Allies to land were paratroops.

Soldiers from U.S., Britain, Canada, and some resistance fighters from Poland and France took part in the naval attack. The Allies attacked very early in the morning on June 6th, 1944. The Allies won the fight on the beaches of Normandy after 6 hours of fighting.
